About Michal Szumin

Product Owner and Design Engineer at Scania Group with over 4 years of experience in mechanical product development, cross-functional collaboration, and project management. I hold an MSc in Mechanical Design Engineering (academic FEM focus) and specialize in developing and maintaining welded and bolted sheet-metal, load-bearing, modular steel structures for city buses and coaches at Scania CV AB. As a team leader, I manage workloads across multiple projects, coordinate timely deliveries, and represent the design team in cross-functional meetings. I also perform hands-on design engineering tasks such as 3D modeling, drawing drafting and review, participating in product development, and managing engineering changes. Previously, I worked as a CAD Designer at Whirlpool, drafting and modeling injection-moulded plastic components for refrigeration equipment. Driven by a passion for mechanical engineering, I thrive at the intersection of innovation, teamwork, and high-quality product delivery.
