About Micheala Sosby

Micheala leads teams and organizations to innovate for the public good. As a local news reporter, she learned the power of empathy, storytelling, and civic participation in building community. Her business experience makes her both an effective intrapreneur within large organizations and a trusted partner for entrepreneurs. Micheala's superpower is building creative environments that inspire teams to connect, experiment, and aim higher. Micheala started a human-centered design practice at NASA and has facilitated dozens of strategy workshops and sprints, resulting in engaging public communications products like the "What Did Hubble See on Your Birthday?" website, which is one of NASA's most popular web pages ever with millions of views each month. She led multi-organization collaborations for NASA's first-ever asteroid sample return mission (with NASA, University of Arizona, Lockheed Martin, Department of Defense) and the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse. As a teacher, Micheala embraces a hands-on and accessible instruction style that focuses on building leaders' confidence throughout the learning process. Micheala now teaches five finance and strategy courses as part of CUNY's Craig Newmark Graduate School of Jounalism J+ executive education programs, and she consistently earns high student ratings. Her classes have empowered more than 200 news executives globally with financial leadership skills, benefitting outlets such as The New York Times, Reuters, Bloomberg, and The Associated Press. Micheala earned a Bachelor of Journalism and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Missouri. She is honored to be a 2025 Partnership for Public Service Excellence in Government Fellow.
