About Michele Andersen

I’m a public-sector leader dedicated to service, strategy, and stewardship—helping the Idaho Department of Lands manage over 2.5 million acres of endowment trust lands for the long-term benefit of Idaho’s public institutions. Over the past 12 years, I’ve worked across policy, finance, and operations to strengthen how state government delivers on its promises—from wildfire preparedness and fiscal transparency to workforce housing and organizational culture. My work is about connecting dots: people to purpose, policy to outcomes, and ideas to action. I believe that how we lead matters as much as what we achieve. I try to lead with empathy, clarity, and integrity—balancing structure with creativity, and always putting people first. My “Secret Sauce for a Winning Team” is simple: communicate openly, assume good intent, support each other, and never lose sight of why we serve. When I’m not deep in legislative language or strategic plans, you’ll find me channeling my creativity into side projects like Rapid River Ranch, Rapid River Baker, and Fierce Collective Events—each inspired by Idaho’s landscapes and community spirit.
