About Michele Demaree Harvey

For more than 20 years, Michele has focused on communicating consumer protection information to the public. Michele graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology, then received her Juris Doctorate degree from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota. After law school, she began working at the Best Buy corporate offices in various roles, including Marketing Compliance Manager, Director of Privacy, and Director of Privacy, Litigation and Compliance. The common theme throughout her roles at Best Buy was creating and communicating (both internally and externally) the company strategy and guidelines relating to consumer protection – either from a marketing or data privacy perspective. During her tenure at Best Buy, Michele also created and taught Minnesota’s first Privacy Law class, as well as two Business Law classes, as an adjunct professor. After moving back to Colorado, Michele continued her focus on communicating and protecting consumers with DeMaree Consulting, Inc, where she served as an outsourced Consumer Privacy Officer. At Guarding Your Life, LLC, she was a researcher and blogger dedicated to educating consumers on how to better protect their assets, personal information and health. In her current role as Director of Communications for Harvey Investment Management, Inc, Michele leads the overall marketing, branding and communications strategy to ensure that it is aligned with the practice’s business strategy and growth objectives.
