Thirty years of experience in local government with a primary focus on providing leadership within parks/recreation programs and public health administration. Extensive experience in staff management, financial administration and grant writing, community-based programming, strategic planning, contract management, policy development, health equity & serving on senior leadership teams. Created from the ground-up numerous Countywide programs that improved cultures of health for entire populations. Grant management experience. Credited with securing significant external funding sources by employing effective grant writing & project management strategies. Responsible for coordinating all aspects to include generating application content, submitting reporting requirements, operationalizing grant deliverables, directing staff, creating & managing grant budget(s). Responsible for stewarding countywide health equity initiatives (i.e. Destination2027, FitArlington, CDC, VDH). These efforts were successful in advancing County’s health equity efforts to include the creation of community-based programs, full-time & contracted positions, adoption of Countywide health equity policy, mobilizing community leaders & volunteers. COVID-19 Response leadership experience. Provided ongoing support to multiple branches of the Response to include Planning, Logistics, Ops Chief Coordination, Contact Tracing & Case Investigations, Staff & Volunteer Management, Testing Sites, Contract Management, Countywide Vaccinations & Outreach. Handpicked as 1 of 11 individuals nominated nationally by the White House as a "Champion of Change for Public Health & Prevention". Led Arlington County’s Office of Community Health Program to selection as the national launch site for the "Hearts 'N Parks" program that showcased a visit from the Attorney General & was supported by the CDC, NHLBI & the NRPA. Invited by Ms. Obama to launch the “Let’s Move - Drink Up“ campaign. Responsible for the development and management of thee 'Commit to Get Fit’ summer camp program which led to an invitation to the White House. With over 30 year's experience in managing government budget: Demonstrated success in various financial management initiatives, including oversight of the initial development of a $2.5MM+ budget for community health equity (built from the ground up),$3MM+ FEMA/COVID funding, multiple grants supported projects (personnel and non-personnel).
