About Michele Gruner

Enthusiastic HR partner and facilitator with a passion for empowering employees to achieve their full potential and become their best selves. With over 25 years of HR experience, I have honed my skills in a variety of people support and strategic management areas. I have developed strong competencies in onboarding, employee engagement, leadership development, survey design and implementation, rewards and recognition, event planning and communications. I thrive in an environment where I can leverage my diverse skillset to foster a safe, collaborative and inclusive work culture. I joined Save the Children in February of 2009, beginning my journey as a Human Resources Coordinator. In this role, I was largely responsible for maintaining HRIS records and managing our newly automated Help Desk system – a one-stop shop designed to create efficiencies on the HR team and reinvent our customer service model. Shortly afterward I served as the HR Specialist for the Global Learning and Development team, facilitating a wide range of internal learning events focused on helping our workforce discover their potential in order to create real and lasting change for children worldwide. Currently, as the Director of Talent Management and Employee Experience, I provide leadership on the design, implementation, facilitation and management of staff development, engagement and learning programs with a focus on staff growth and participation to achieve the strategic and operational objectives of the Agency and enhance the overall employee experience. Before coming to Save the Children, I spent 10 years in the for-profit sector as an HR Specialist and Affirmative Action Plan Leader for GE Capital Services, Inc. In everything that I do, my goal is to use my creative voice to empower and inspire others.
