About Michele Lob

I am the founder and Executive Director of DBT Center of Orange County. Having spent over twelve years working in the field of addiction and eating disorder residential treatment, I decided to open one of the first comprehensive DBT programs in Orange County, California. As a passionate DBT clinician, my main objective is to help clients create a Life Worth Living that aligns with their values and goals. I believe that struggles and challenges are an inevitable fact of life, and what matters most is how we manage our mental health along the way. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and adds the component of Acceptance to the CBT model of Change. DBT teaches us how to deal with strong emotions through the skills-based modules of Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation and Interpersonal Effectiveness skills, DBT is one of the most researched and evidence-based treatments in the world today. Learning DBT skills is a powerful way to help people deal with addictions, eating disorders, intense emotions, depression, anxiety, and other mood and personality disorders.
