As a seasoned healthcare operations professional who has worked in the healthcare industry for more than two decades, my primary focus has been developing strategies and initiatives that support patient care, patient safety, quality assurance, and healthcare compliance. In addition, I’m an avid volunteer in my community where I’m proud to also live and work, striving for better healthcare access and outcomes for all. With the foresight to strategize, develop, and implement plans, I see myself as a catalyst for constant improvement and an innovative thought leader who identifies problems by analyzing gaps in existing workflows, finding solutions, and creating a systems approach through teamwork that elevates patient and partner satisfaction. With a contagious energy, positive mindset, and just enough humor to redirect a stressful situation, I strive to be the type of leader who implements a cohesive team strategy, inspiring their commitment, encouraging their feedback, and inviting their participation to produce positive outcomes. Mentoring and coaching my staff to achieve their personal goals is one of the key principles of my transformational leadership philosophy. I earned a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration/Nurse Management from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and have acquired numerous clinical and leadership certifications to elevate my medical and administrative knowledge and excel as a leader in the executive healthcare field. I pride myself on being a lifelong learner, staying ahead of the fast-paced changes in the industry. I am dedicated to improving healthcare in the community where I live, work, and invest my free time. Some of my past and present volunteer positions include: board member for the New Bedford Women’s Center, advisory board member for the Greater New Bedford Vocational Technical High School - nurse assisting/health assisting, Interfaith Church Council Suicide Prevention Team member, co-chair for the New Bedford Police Human Trafficking, member of the New Bedford Police Opioid Task Force, and board member for Empowered to Rise Against Slavery and Exploitation (ERASE). As a sought-after speaker and presenter, I speak on subjects such as: human trafficking, optimizing emergency department operations and patient care, teamwork, and leadership for implementing sustainable change.
