About Michele Roma

After my graduation as Aeronautical Engineer, I gained ten years of experience in Energy Technology/Oil & Gas sector. During this period, I had the chance to cover several positions into engineering organization- In my current role as Engineering ITO entry point for Gas Turbines I'm the technical focal point for Application Engineering Team, Product Leadership, Sales Managers and Growth Areas, providing prompt feedback and guidance for opportunities that challenge current BH standard, with focus on Energy Transition related scenarios (hydrogen, biogases, emissions abatement, carbon footprint reduction). Presentation of product / program technical outcomes, ITO metrics, roadmaps, risks and recommendations to Senior Leaders. I coordinate feasibility studies for non-standard offering and manage workload within GTs ITO support team. I support and supervise the execution of such studies defining the best configuration limits to meet customer requirements- From gas turbine performance engineering I bring with myself the experience of analyzing customer requirements to drive optimum solutions in terms of performance output, efficiency and emissions, evaluating the best strategy in terms of cost / benefits (waste heat recovery, combined cycles, maintenance.) In addition, I supported and supervised factory and on-site performance tests, directly involved in performance measurements and elaboration of data- I maturated some strong technical detail-design skills thanks to the experience in combustion design team, exercising technical leadership in execution and design of several experimental activities. I have strong physics / fluid thermodynamics knowledge that is the key for high – level understanding of every energy process, production and thermal optimization- In my early career I have been selected to participate to GE’s Edison Engineer Program, a two-year Leadership Program structured to boost technical and soft skills. Further from technical, I had the chance to attend several soft skills courses (effective communication and presentation, leadership and controversial management courses) while having real on the job experiences. Further than Italian, I am fluent in both English and Spanish: I spent about a year in Valencia (Spain) during my internship in Union Naval Valencia and my wife is from Valencia, so I regularly speak Spanish. I consider myself a fast learner person with a strong technical background, capable of adapting easily to different contexts and communicate effectively.
