About Michelle Angkasa

Hi, I'm Michelle! I believe in building grassroots people power for an equitable and climate-safe future. I graduated in 2024 from the Environment and Business program at the University of Waterloo. Throughout my undergrad, I was able to align my personal and professional careers with my passions for climate justice, community engagement, and political advocacy. On top of five co-op terms across the educational, public, and private sectors, I also led climate-focused grassroots organizing work on campus and in Waterloo Region. After graduation, I supported communications and student-facing programming at re•generation, a Canadian youth-led non-profit, as a Research & Campus Strategy Co-Lead. This year, I'll be on the Hill working as a staffer through Environmental Leadership Canada's (ELC) Parliamentary Internship for the Environment program. I am also a Board Director at The Starfish Canada, a national environmental charity empowering generations of youth changemakers. When I'm not working, you can find me exploring locally owned cafes, bouldering, or reading science fiction.
