About Michelle Auvil

Throughout my years of education, I have achieved a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Molecular Science from The Ohio State University, and I am currently pursuing an MS in Sustainable Food Systems at the University of Colorado Boulder. My core competencies include communication, quality control, and adaptability. As a former laboratory technician at the Aquatic Ecology Lab at The Ohio State University College of Education and Human Ecology, I contributed to a PhD research experiment on the early growth and development of Large Mouth Bass based on food sources and origin. I worked with a team of researchers and students to collect and analyze data, extract otoliths, and monitor fish health and behavior. Similarly at Ohio State, I worked as a student assistant for an Intro to Environmental Science course for 4 years of schooling, with over 600 students per semester. During this time, I assisted the professor within grading students' semester long projects on creating their first scientific poster based on research of peer-reviewed journal articles. I also developed and implemented new methods of mixing foundations and creating new products for Lusso Cosmetics, a small business that produces small-batch makeup for consumer use. I am passionate about applying my skills and knowledge to address environmental and social issues related to food systems, and I am eager to learn from and collaborate with diverse and innovative professionals in the field.
