Background
About Michelle Awad
I am an equity-focused educator and administrator with leadership experience in both higher education and the non-profit sector. I have worked for internationally supported education initiatives in Palestine, Jordan, and Egypt. I am passionate about empowering students through participatory and project-based learning, with an emphasis on multimodality. I embrace critical pedagogy in the classroom as a means of helping students become independent, life-long learners, equipped with critical thinking and writing skills. I am on the board of First Followers, where I help the organization meet it's goal of advocating on behalf of and providing services to formerly incarcerated community members.
