About Michelle Barton

For 13 years, I taught Sociology courses at several higher education institutions. As an instructor, I was committed to cultivating students' curiosity and encouraging them to be critical thinkers. In addition to teaching in person classes, I taught fully online classes for almost a decade and was seen as a leader in online teaching at LSU. During my time there, I helped create a new, fully online Sociology degree and served as the program director for the BA in Sociology for LSU Online. In 2022, I began a new role as an Experience Manager at Packback. Packback created a suite of AI-assisted writing tools that encourage students to ask questions, be critical thinkers and provides resources for students to develop their writing skills. In my current role, I am able to combine my love for teaching and pedagogy with the forward-thinking and technologically driven perspective of Packback to help support instructors who are using the platform with the goal of transforming education one course at a time.
