About Michelle Berry

Over 20 years experience in operations and staff management in the fields of municipal government, real estate/home improvement, and hospitality. Knowledgeable and experienced in ensuring efficient and productive day to day operations of small to medium size organizations or departments to achieve goals and objectives. Approximately ten of those years was managing a successful real estate career and a small family-run home remodeling business simultaneously. Responsibilities include evaluating daily operations of a high volume municipal court for efficiency, as well as compliance with state law, local code, city and department policies and established procedures. Budget and fiscal responsibilities include timely performance of accounts payable, reconciliations, budget monitoring, budget reporting, travel and off-campus training coordination, accurate reporting of payroll, budget preparation for annual forecasting and budget approval. Staff management responsibilities include hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, scheduling, assigning, monitoring and evaluating work, termination, labor/union relations for a staff of 16. Perform related administrative functions for an additional 7 employees. Ability to be an active management team member, assume department leadership as needed, provide analysis of data in relation to key operational or budgetary functions, lead and/or assist in project management, and cultivate ongoing cooperative relationships with a variety of stakeholders to include key employees in other departments, contract employees, vendors, and community members. Areas of expertise are database management migration, CJIS security, records management, process improvement, policy and procedure drafting through implementation. I’m most passionate about staff development, responsible stewardship of public resources, and equitable opportunity and practices both internally and externally of public organizations.
