About Michelle Bilek

I lead multiple communities, programs and projects that are dedicated to transformations based in equity. With a degree in Education & Women and Gender Studies and a degree in Humanities - Sociology, I have a strong background in social justice and community development. I am also a certified Public Policy Analyst and have completed courses in Collaborative Leadership and Governance and Mental Healthcare. In addition to my role at Women in Urbanism Canada, I serve as a Principal and Founder, of Real People Collaboration, supporting and promoting the lived experience movement. As a Community Organizer with the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness, I built capacity in the homelessness sector and provided political, policy, research and participatory civic engagement expertise. I hold board positions at Moyo Health and Community Services, Action Centre for Tenants in Ontario, and previously with The Regional Diversity Roundtable of Peel, and United Nations (Toronto Chapter) UNACTO. I have over 10 years of experience in leading, developing and executing community strategies, evaluating programs, and rectifying issues in the human services sector.
