About Michelle Cowl

I am a Registered Nurse who graduated from Trent University with working experience on general medicine units, medical/surgical units, and within the surgical program. I also have experience working with vulnerable and marginalized populations gained through the experience of being a member of a preventative medical care brigade in Honduras, Central America. My experience in Honduras as well as my work experience, has given me the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and have a respect for cultural differences, being able to provide patient centered holistic care, always upholding professional ethical standards. I am currently a Registered Nurse working in the pre-op/same day surgery aspect of the surgical program. Throughout my career thus far, I have gained valuable nursing skills and have developed strong communication skills that contribute to having successful therapeutic relationships with the patients I have cared for. From my experiences, I have gained an understanding of the great importance of cooperation and collaboration, commitment to patients and families, teamwork, compassion, and respecting confidentiality as a professional.
