About Michelle Farres

I am an avid music fan who is fortunate enough to manage all grant funding at Radio Starmaker Fund to help support Canadian recording artists in their domestic and international marketing and touring initiatives. This passion also helped foster the creation of The Telescope, which was a Toronto-based blog featuring reviews of videos, albums, and festivals, focusing on Canadian artists. In addition to my love of music, I've also developed exceptional administrative and project management skills. I have worked closely with senior executives and members of various boards of directors throughout my professional career to prepare board materials, reports, meeting coordination, and administrative support. My experience extends into project management, including departmental start-up, broadcast hearing logistics, compliance reporting management, and research projects as requested. My position at Corus Entertainment Inc. provided me with a first-hand look and understanding of the inner workings of the Canadian entertainment industry, and my current position at the Radio Starmaker Fund has given me even further knowledge of the entertainment industry with a focus on the Canadian music scene. I am a native English speaker fluent in French and Spanish and work as a freelance language consultant. I translate, proofread, and edit a number of documents in the areas of government relations, marketing/communications, human resources, and corporate/general administration.
