About Michelle Ferrell

Experienced dancer and choreographer with a demonstrated history of working and teaching dance to children of all ages and adults. I have a strong passion for the performing arts; especially dance. I am skilled in several dance genres such as: jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, but most experienced in ballet and pointe technique. I am currently a dance instructor at "Dancing Little Stars", which is a traveling dance program for children under twelve years of age. I have also worked in childcare and early childhood education preschool programs age for many years. I am also experienced in working with those who have special needs such Autism. I am experienced in ABA therapy and currently have 1 full time client. I have worked with children who have autism for several years and am patient enough to handle stressful situations with each of my clients. Here is a more specific list of my professional skills: • Skilled in working and teaching children of all ages, teens, and adults in beginning and intermediate dance skills in ballet, jazz, tap, hip- hop, lyrical, contemporary, and African dance. • Patient enough to break down basic dance movements or steps for struggling individuals. • Able to connect and work one on one with individuals and help bring up confidence in themselves. • Skilled in assessing and improving dance abilities • Experienced most in ballet and jazz terminology and technique and muscle kinesiology. • Ability to help develop flexibility and mobility in students. • Patient, IEP familiarity • Conflict resolution • Adept at working with special needs children • Trained in motor and cognitive skills therapy • ABA trained and certified • Skilled in assessing children’s needs in stressful situations, and CPR/first aid certified.
