About Michelle Gilbert

Michelle’s passion in working as a registered massage therapist and lymph drainage therapist shows as she continues her therapeutic focus in providing lymph drainage therapy for all ages in both general health and complex specific conditions in addition to gentle massage therapy. Michelle’s compassion extends from over 25 years working with children and families in both educational and mental health fields. Her highly empathetic demeanour serves a population with challenging health conditions who need that extra gentle and patient approach. Having an autoimmune condition and chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) herself, Michelle truly understands the various challenges specific conditions can present and just how effective gentle techniques can be. Recognizing the physical manifestations that stress, anxiety and also PTSD may present, she holds a special interest in offering gentle manual therapy through lymph drainage and / or massage therapy in a calm and safe space created for all. Taking special considerations, each patient’s treatment is suited to their own unique needs. Michelle’s belief is that no matter the physical and/or mental challenges an individual may face, the individual is a person first and deserves the best care in their therapeutic journey. Michelle is currently offering lymph drainage therapy, pediatric lymph drainage therapy, gentle massage therapy, and private infant massage classes. Current areas of focus, but not limited to-Autoimmune / Rheumatology: ie. Lupus, Hashimotos, Fibromyalgia, Raynaud’s Phenomenon, Arthritis-CVI and other venous conditions -Dermatology: ie. Chronic and allergic eczema, Dermatitis, Rosacea, Acne-Allergies -Gastroenterology: ie. IBS, Chronic constipation, Crohns-Pre and Post surgery prep/recovery: ie. Hip, knee, hysterectomy, cosmetic-Gynecologic / Premenstrual -Neurology: ie. headaches, migraines, post trauma symptoms, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons-PTSD physical manifestations: ie. highly engaged SNS (sympathetic nervous system); anxiety, elevated heart rate, insomnia, increased cortisol, digestive issues, chronic pain and tension, poor circulation-Pediatrics, Geriatrics Michelle is a graduate of MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy (2200 hours) and registered with MTAA. She is trained in Lymph Drainage Therapy through The Chikly Institute and is also a Certified Pediatric Massage Therapist, Certified Infant Massage Teacher, Touch Therapy for Autism/ASD via The Liddlekidz Foundation and became a Certified Infant Massage Instructor via the International Association of Infant Massage.
