About Michelle Izzo

My passion is sustainable and healthful practices within the Interior Design + Build industry. I came to find interior design through my years of domestic service - owning a personal assistant and non-toxic cleaning service in Bloomington, IN. I saw first hand how our interior environments are linked to our health and wellbeing. I came across clients who were living in sick building syndrome homes and suffering through various health challenges. In 2018 I began studying Environmental Interior Design, which lead me to the International Well Building Institute. In the years following, I worked on freelance interior design projects and became a WELL Accredited Professional. The end of the pandemic saw me relocating to my hometown- Chicago, IL. Since then I have worked as Lead Designer and Project Manager for Humble Design, Chicago, as well as my current job in both the Project Engineer and Superintendent roles for Vero Design + Build. I continue to expand my knowledge of the design and construction industry while exploring opportunities to connect with likeminded health and wellness enthusiasts in the industry, and beyond. I have a compulsion to reuse, upcycle, recycle, rebuild and thrift both at home, and on the job - whenever possible.
