About Michelle Jane

Born and raised in Wairoa, New Zealand, Michelle answered the calling to become an educator at an early age. With over 20 years of experience, and a distinguished career spanning several continents, Michelle began her journey as a Physical & Outdoor Education teacher in New Zealand before extending her horizons to England, and thereafter to Asia. The past 12 years in Malaysia has seen her making a significant impact in senior management roles, particularly in shaping educational practices and leading transformative initiatives. Besides being recognized by GFEL as one of the top 100 leaders for her contribution to education, she has also been a speaker at Bett Asia in Singapore. Michelle’s contributions to education are well-regarded. She holds a Master’s in Teaching and Learning from Otago University, New Zealand, and is currently pursuing a PhD to further advance her knowledge. As a leader, Michelle is committed to mentoring, coaching, and fostering a positive learning environment. She believes in nurturing students’ soft skills, values, community, and teamwork, as well as the pursuit of academic achievements. Her philosophy emphasizes the importance of physical activity and its role in developing well-rounded individuals. Outside of her professional life, Michelle is an avid scuba diver, enjoys traveling, exploring new cultures, and having new adventures. Her goal is to cultivate an exciting, safe, and positive environment for future generations, ensuring students grow into the best versions of themselves.
