About Michelle Kennedy

Hi there, I'm Michelle! Ever since I could hold a pencil, immersing myself into drawings and anything creative has been a way to express my inner self. I listened to stories my dad would tell about building houses and then watched him renovate portions of our home through out my life. At a young age I noticed my environment impacted how I felt, my mood, and sometimes my health. In middle school my parents allowed me to choose furniture and décor for our front room space, which looking back now, was completely off in scale and proportion. I really could have used a few of the design rules I learned later in life. What mattered most was having people in my life pushing me forward, cheering me on, and saying "you can do this." It sparked the idea that interiors could be molded both structurally and stylistically to realize my own vision. In my spare time I can be found at the park with my mini labradoodle and fiancé, chatting over coffee with a friend, caring for different animals, and watching design shows like the Dear Alice Podcast and Windy City Rehab. Michelle started her creative academic journey at the University of New Haven. She has experience in various roles as a kitchen design CAD drafter, design assistant, customer service specialist, and furniture and technology sales manager. These past experiences enhance her ability to wear multiple hats as the owner of Haven House Interior Design. Michelle realized she was inspired by the interior space planning, product sourcing, and the cherry on the top: final interior styling. Thus, Haven House Interior Design was born to offer vacant and occupied home staging, redesigning, and interior styling. At Haven House Interior Design, Michelle aims to tailor the style to each client whether that is a home for sale or a lived in home in need of an updated personality. Michelle is a HSR Certified Professional home staging and interior redesign organization serving the Boston, Quincy, Weymouth, Hingham, Cohasset, Brookline, Cambridge, Milton, Somerville, Chelsea, Revere, Winthrop and surrounding area. She has completed the most comprehensive and intensive home staging and redesign certification courses in North America provided by the Home Staging Resource. The HSR Certification program was the first, and is one of the only, Accredited staging training by the Real Estate Staging Association (RESA) who is the governing body for the home staging industry.
