About Michelle Kooy
Over the past 20 years I've worked in various capacities for ecological sustainability and social justice. I was trained as a human geographer and now practice as an academic (research, teaching, advising) at IHE-Delft Institute for Water Education, but I have also been an international environmental/water development policy researcher, and non-profit urban development program manager. Most of my applied and academic work has has focused on combining issues of social justice and ecological sustainability, asking: how to live on a damaged planet with right relations between nature and society? I am inspired by the degrowth philosophy and movement, Latour's Ecological Democracy, and Rights of Nature.
