About Michelle Larkin

I am an experienced Housing professional in a unique position to have had over 20 years experience in both housing management and property services. I bring a strong value set and strive to 'do the right thing' for customers as I believe everyone should have the right to have a warm, safe, home. I have a strong understanding and technical capability within the housing profession and drive high standards of quality and compliance. I drive decision making at senior levels and I excel at planning and organisation, to ensure projects are completed within time and on budget. I love taking on challenges and in in my last role I insourced our Hampshire response repairs team from a contractor set up to direct labour team, in 4 months and under budget. I also successfully set up and managed the companies workwear contract for six years, introducing a portal that cut down of staff time in ordering and invoicing. More recently I’ve successfully headed up our Disrepair, damp and mould portfolio and brought in IOT sensors and video triage capability to all our response teams. This has saved the business a considerably large amount of money. In addition I was able to maximise staff productivity by enabling managers to diagnose issues from home, increasing the numbers of inspections, improving customer satisfaction and cutting mileage costs. When working with teams I get employees to see their potential and have seen success with my promotion of Women in Trades and my team being shortlisted (top 3) for Team of the Year at Sovereign. In addition, I was also runner up for Employee of the Year - I pride myself in building strong successful teams and I lead by example. Above all, I get the job done. I use my skills to to keep a team together in the good times generating buzz and 'fun' and when the going gets tough, I use my resilience and that of my teams, to cope and succeed. I am versatile, creative and have excellent people skills. Without happy, engaged staff you don’t have a successful business so I treat them with respect, make them my priority and empower to be the best they can be.
