About Michelle Leclair

An entrepreneur, at heart, I enjoy curating and creating new ideas and finding solutions for gaps in industries that I love. Whether it is developing new personal care products for the healthcare industry, working close with non profits, or publishing my memoir, I use my voice and talents to bring light to areas that need innovation and change. Being the mother of an African American daughter, it opened my eyes to the hair and skin discrimination in the healthcare industry. Therefore, I felt it was time to create products that could be used for ALL skin types, but especially BIPOC skin and hair. For the past decade I have working with chemists and manufactures to develop an Sulfate and Paraben free moisturizing BIPOC skin and haircare line for adults and infants. Be Serene was recently awarded a contract with the largest GPO in the nation. It is an honor to be working with some of the largest healthcare providers who recognize the gap in hair and skin care for the black and brown population and want to make a change to be more inclusive. Be Serene was created to fill that gap and we continue to innovate in the area of BIPOC skin and haircare products. It’s been one of my most exciting and personal ventures. Over the past 28 years, I am proud to say that I built one of the largest women owned Premium Finance Life insurance agencies in the nation, wrote and published a best selling book with Penguin Random House titled,"Perfectly Clear" and graced the cover of People Magazine. I have been a guest speaker on multiple talk shows, podcasts and editorials, such as, The Megyn Kelly show, Access Hollywood, NBC, Fox, the Jenni McCarthy Show, Elle Magazine, Katherine Schwarzenegger’s podcast and book, the Advocate, NPR and many more. I am a constant advocate for women's rights and the LGBTQ community and was recently named as OUT Magazine's top 100, and received the Trailblazer award from GLADD International. Above all else, I a mother of four and married to my amazing wife, Grammy Award winning producer, Tena Clark. We dedicate our lives to doing good and making a difference.
