About Michelle Lis

I have a Ph.D. in Physics with a concentration in medical physics. I have over 6 years of experience in radiation oncology therapies, building strategic partnerships with international, cross-functional teams, science outreach, scientific communication, didactic teaching, and mentorship. My background includes knowledge of photon and ion radiotherapy and solid tumor oncology. I have worked in the development and testing of particle therapy systems, planning systems, and clinical particle therapy research. I enjoy learning innovative new strategies for oncology therapies, and I am passionate about making a profound difference in patients' lives with unmet needs. I am skilled in scientific presentations, opinion leader interactions, adaptive learning, and organization. I have the ability to understand, interpret, and communicate complex scientific and medical information, as evidenced by 8 regional and international conference presentations. My career in research has developed my ability to learn quickly and to communicate complex scientific and medical information, but my most rewarding accomplishments have been through the relationships I have built in my collaborations and through my time as the Fellows' Representative of my MSCA-OMA network. In my free time, I enjoy rock climbing, aerial silks, CrossFit, dancing, and yoga. I also enjoy drawing photo-realistic portraiture. I am here to foster meaningful connections with science professionals and thought leaders in my area.
