About Michelle Looby

Michelle Looby represents plaintiffs in complex litigation in courts throughout the United States. In the courtroom, she has been appointed by judges across the country to lead class actions on behalf of plaintiffs – often taking on major corporations that have engaged in anticompetitive conduct causing harm to consumers and small businesses. She has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of victims of anticompetitive and other wrongful conduct. Outside the courtroom, Michelle is actively involved in the legal community serving on the Advisory Board of the American Antitrust Institute, as the past Chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Antitrust Council, and on the executive committee of the Coalition in Support of the Antitrust Laws. In addition, she is actively involved in the American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, and Minnesota Women Lawyers, previously having served on its Board of Directors. Michelle also served on Law360’s Competition Editorial Advisory Board, a leading daily legal news and intelligence service that reaches over one million recipients each day. In 2023, Michelle was named an Attorney of the Year by Minnesota Lawyer for her representation of a rising soccer star challenging anticompetitive age restrictions being imposed by the National Women's Soccer League. Her work on that case was also recognized by the American Antitrust Institute with its annual award for Outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement in Private Practice. Michelle previously won the American Antitrust Institute’s award for Outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement by a Young Lawyer for her work on a global price-fixing case in which she helped recover more than $400 million for the class. She has also been consistently recognized as a leading lawyer for her efforts on behalf of plaintiffs by Super Lawyers, having been named a "Rising Star" each year from 2014 through 2020 and a "Super Lawyer" from 2021 through 2023.
