About Michelle Lund

I have a deep and broad understanding of reservoir geology in conventional and unconventional systems and am comfortable working at all scales from local production-scale investigations to large basin-wide studies. I love to learn by taking on new challenges. Team collaboration with other skill sets and points of view has been key to success. I excel at taking messy, complicated datasets and clearing away the noise to get to the true answers – systems are generally much simpler than they appear to be. I have extensive experience in shale and tight reservoirs (Montney, Duvernay, Bakken, Exshaw, Nordegg), in oil sands (McMurray and Clearwater), in offshore Eastern Canada (Hibernia and Hebron fields) and most Western Canadian conventional reservoirs. I am a powerful integrator and use core data, sequence stratigraphy (wells and seismic), log analysis, reservoir quality, 3D geomodelling, thermal maturity, fluid chemistry and big data analysis/visualization to assess production potential and extract profit from the subsurface. l mentor others to leverage technology to automate tasks, seek deep insights into their data and create effective communication tools.
