About Michelle Lyons

My formal education and professional experience is in advertising and marketing. Having attended Northwood University (NI 90) my marketing career launched with Moog Automotive, Inc, followed by Gannett Outdoor Advertising. It was in 1994 that I decided to take my marketing/sales expertise and honed communication skills on the road with an engineering sales position. From 1994-1998 I called on "Big 3" automotive manufacturing facilities and tier 1, 2, and 3 suppliers assisting engineering, maintenance, and purchasing with the best electronic/hydraulic/mechanical repair service available. In 1998 I "retired" from working outside the home to focus on domestic engineering. Between 2003-2014 I home educated our children, and taught two courses at Crossroads Christian Academy during the 2011-2012 school year. I have coached high school athletics, as well as elementary aged athletes in volleyball and softball. In 2016 I pitched and developed digital communication for North Branch Area Schools (Michigan). NBAS is a Division 2, Class B, school in the heart of the Thumb. The district recognized a need for online, e-magazine publications to support their High School athletics, as well as an all inclusive publication to feature the events and initiatives within the district from pre-K-12 grades. I was able to secure a publishing platform, url's, and publish the magazines. In 2018 I was successful in leading the district through a re-branding process, developing a one of a kind mascot for the district, along with a complete marketing/communication standard. I also provided re-branding and marketing for Brown City Community Schools and Crossroads Christian Academy. I am a certified nationally by the Business Professionals of America as an advisor (2019) and served as a substitute teacher from 2014-2018. Recently my passion for service and marketing has drawn me to utilize my skills and talents in retail and optical.
