About Michelle Matar

I have a master's degree in early childhood education and teaching from Western Sydney University, where I learned to design and implement developmentally appropriate and culturally responsive curriculum and pedagogy for young children. I am currently working as an early childhood teacher (ECT) and the second in charge at Montessori Academy Childcare Centres, where I assist the preschool room and support the centre manager in daily operations and staff development. My core competencies include inclusive team leadership, communication, and early childhood teaching. In my role as an ECT and second in charge, I work with a diverse and passionate team of educators to create a stimulating and nurturing learning environment for the children, based on the Montessori philosophy and principles. I also communicate and collaborate with the families and the community to foster positive and respectful relationships and partnerships. I am motivated by the opportunity to inspire and empower the children to reach their full potential and to contribute to their holistic development and well-being. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as I have worked in different Montessori settings and have a multicultural background. I am always eager to learn new skills and to share my knowledge and ideas with others. I am currently employed by Sydney Catholic Schools and public schools working as a casual primary school teacher. However, I am interested in getting back into childcare in a full time leadership role.
