I am a passionate communicator, connector, and changemaker with a unique blend of experience in public media, mental health, and cultural tourism. My career spans over 25 years, beginning in radio as an on-air personality at WJMI and culminating in my role as a statewide producer and host at MPB Think Radio, where I used the power of storytelling to uplift Mississippi voices and shift perceptions of our state—one show at a time. Driven by a deep desire to help others reach their full potential, I returned to school in 2015 and earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2019, at the age of 46—a personal milestone that underscores my belief in perseverance, growth, and transformation at any stage of life. As an Intake Assessment & Admissions Counselor at Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare, I worked on the front lines of crisis intervention, helping children, adolescents, and adults navigate psychiatric and substance abuse challenges with care, empathy, and clinical expertise. Today, I serve as the Special Projects Manager for Visit Mississippi, where I lead the planning, execution, and promotion of tourism-focused initiatives, including the Mississippi Blues and Country Music Trail Markers. From developing budgets and timelines to emceeing public events and maintaining statewide historical markers, I bring creativity, cultural awareness, and heart to every project. Whether I’m telling stories on the air, helping someone through a mental health crisis, or curating events that celebrate our state’s legacy, my mission remains the same: to empower, connect, and create meaningful change.
