About Michelle Otte

Michelle Otte is a life-long learner and leader who believes in the transformative power of a rigorous education. As an instructional leader, she has worked in public, private, innovative, and charter schools. Throughout her 20 +year career, she has focused on ensuring underserved populations have access to educational options that lead to post-secondary success. She holds advanced degrees in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education from the University of Colorado at Denver, and a principals' license through Denver University. She is currently pursuing a graduate certificate in Post-Secondary Access and Success. Each academic pursuit correlates to an identified gap that propelled Michelle to increase her experience to serve better the student population she worked with. Most recently, she has felt compelled to expand her expertise in preparing first-generation college-bound students for success. Her current work and advocacy focus is the inequity that exists in matriculation rates for first-generation college students.
