About Michelle Palmieri
I have spent 3 years as a research assistant and a subsequent 4 years as a PhD student understanding PI3K signalling in colorectal cancer. This research entailed proteomic studies (interactome studies as well as label free quantitative proteomics and reverse phase protein arrays), protein purification, immunofluorescence microscopy and high throughput drug screening. Following the completion of my PhD, I expanded my skill set into patient derived tumour organoid development and its application in personalised medicine as a drug screening tool. I supervise two PhD students and I oversee the research of 2 research assistants who work on the organoid platform.
