Background
About Michelle Pankey
MJ Pankey has been obsessed with Greek mythology since she was a teenager. After reading the Iliad, she was hooked and could not get her hands on enough ancient Greek material, from mythology, to history, to archeology, to philosophy. If it was ancient Greek, she was all over it.She even decided to minor in Classics in college to delve even deeper into her obsession. In 2023, MJ published her first Greek myth inspired fantasy novel, Epic of Helinthia. She published her second, Oracle of Helinthia, in 2025. She has an Early Reader chapter book series about the Goddess Iris currently in the works which is projected for publication in Fall 2025. An Air Force veteran and prior corporate lacky, MJ lives in Augusta, Georgia with her husband, Eric; three children, Dante, Athena, and Artemis; furry writing companion, Petey; and beta fish Bluey. She is also the host and founder of the Augusta Writer's Critique Group.
