About Michelle Parsons

Good day, My name is Michelle Parsons, I am a Daklaweidi Clan member of the Carcross/Tagish First Nation. I moved to the Yukon to learn about my community. I have lived and travelled almost all of our great country. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about registered charities and non profit organization at Kaushees Place (Whitehorse’s original emergency shelter for women/gender diverse and children fleeing violence) & Betty’s Haven (a second stage apartment complex for same). Both services are located in Whitehorse, Yukon. I’m definitely not surprised to find myself fighting for rights, needs and bettering the socioeconomic status of Canada's underserved or less fortunate people. This seems to be the common denominator in my career and it makes me proud to keep serving. I’m wearing a few different hats - I’m on the Board of Governors for Canada's Newest University (Yukon U), Board of Directors of Women's Shelters Canada, member of the Yukon Minister's Advisory Committee on Women and Gender Equity and a partner in the Yukon Women's Coalition. I’m proud to work towards helping people achieve new levels of success and happiness in their lives. Gunalcheesh for stopping by my page!
