About Michelle Peters

Michelle is an experienced professional, social entrepreneur, chronic disease health advocate and pan-African youth development specialist. She is the Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of Health Journey Together, which is an organisation that provides a supportive and empowering space for individuals who are having or have had health challenges related to chronic diseases, autoimmune diseases, or allergies. Her mission is to teach her community who are ready to take their healing journey into their own hands how to live more joy filled lives through behavioural changes in nutrition, exercise, and stress management to manage inflammation or other triggers for their conditions. Michelle holds an Introduction to Food and Health certificate from Stanford University offered through Coursera and holds a certificate in Executive Coaching and Management from the University of Cape Town. Her passion is to use what she has learned to help other people with the education and tools to develop strategies to make lasting lifestyle adjustments that bolster overall wellness, and disease management. Michelle is an entrepreneur at heart whose vision is to inspire, motivate and teach entrepreneurship, leadership and holistic health management. She coaches executives who run small to medium sized enterprises, mentors’ youth from across the African Continent and specialises in Early Career Graduate Recruitment in order to help young people accelerate their careers. Michelle is dedicated to putting a spotlight on gender equality and women's rights, as well as bringing unheard women's voices front and center and manages the Africa Career Networks Women’s Forum and supports Girls in STEAM programs for youth from across the African Continent. Being a multi-passionate person Michelle has expressed her creativity through her jewellery business Shamelle International an enterprise which has retailed at OR Tambo Int. Airport, malls in Johannesburg and online. At the age of 27 Michelle was nominated for Small Business Person of the Year with First National Bank and Randburg Chamber of Commerce and was awarded the Gold Award. In 2014 Michelle was awarded Top Entrepreneur by the South African Wire Association one of South Africa's export councils. When Michelle is not working you can find her trying out new gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy-free recipes, enjoying the outdoors or immersed in a creative arts project.
