About Michelle Scheen
I graduated from Rollins College in 2013 after fulfilling a long time dream of becoming a music educator. This dream was put on hold so I could stay at home with my 4 children. I never lost sight of completing my degree since I have wanted to teach band since I was in 6th grade and was inspired by my band teacher that I had at the time, Mr. McDonald. I started playing flute in 5th grade and had a passion for it that I would love to pass on to other students and allow them the chance to experience music and talents that they may have not had the chance to experience. My junior high band teacher started me with woodwind doubling which has given me the opportunity to play in several pit orchestras for musicals. I have spent 3 years as a substitute teacher in the county gaining teaching experience before getting the job to teach full time at McNair Magnet Middle School. After 5 years teaching in public school, the opportunity opened up for me to move to teaching at Calvary Chapel Academy where I teach 5th through 12 grade with the hopes of adding a Pep band and Marching Band.
