I have worked the full circle of healthcare billing. Starting in human resources, I worked as a liaison between the employees and the employer sponsored health plan they choose. I have experience at a nationwide health insurance company working with patients, and physicians. I also used my skills learned from employer relationships and insurance company experience to work in billing offices helping physicians get the money they earn out of their practice, and helping patients understand their bills and at times advocate on their behalf. I enjoy billing and coding so much I obtained my CPC certification from the AAPC in 2009. I am very detailed oriented and like fighting for my physicians to get them every last penny that they have earned, and helping patients get the benefits that they pay their insurance companies for. It surprises me how much money many billing offices and billing staff loose for their physicians by not completing insurance verifications, appealing denied claims, or just working AR.
