After decades of successful public service, Michelle's mission is to help people, communities and organisations access the government programs they need to thrive.Key to her success is the breadth and depth of government process, program knowledge and skills- ability to track between macro strategic and micro client views- formulation and costing of New Policy Proposals, Budget initiatives and Strategic Initiatives- implementation and management of legislative and policy-based programs- external and internal stakeholder and issues management- formulate and monitor national policies, procedures and guidelines for program administration and client accessibility- intelligence analysis on departmental risk topics and issues pertaining to program compliance- prepare briefing material and responses to Ministerial, Senate Estimates, Questions on Notice, Ombudsman, departmental reporting and other correspondence- utilise departmental resources to empower team members to thrive and engage in their health and well being - lead local and remote teams by providing clear direction focussed on developing individual and team capability to deliver outcomes- proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint, Outlook (including calendar and meetings) and Teams and EDRM systems.In 2017, Michelle had an opportunity to full time advocate and assist ageing parents navigate the Australian health and aged care system. This unpaid role leveraged her expertise within the the Department of Health and Services Australia (formerly Human Services) and afforded valuable client perspective insight. A year later she was in a similar situation for extended family in New Zealand. Michelle used the situation to consolidate and broadened government knowledge and compare and contrast Australian and New Zealand government health and welfare systems. Keen to explore a passion pursuit whilst in New Zealand she studied viticulture and winemaking at Lincoln University. In Central Otago New Zealand Michelle gained skills in winemaking, viticulture, wine industry compliance and regulations, duty management, sales and marketing. She extended her transferable skills of stakeholder engagement, process mapping and procedural documentation. Provisioned with- strong public administration skills- newly honed client insight in foreign government tertiary education, seniors, health and welfare programs, and- an increased set of skillsit is time for Michelle to call Canberra home once more in August 2021.
