About Michiel B.

At Valk Digital I spend most of my time working on the backend side of our Elixir Phoenix applications. One of them is a MVC backend, mostly interacted with, by React frontends via a REST API. The other makes full use of Phoenix LiveView, keeping most of the frontend within the Elixir ecosystem. Next to that I like to simplify the development workflow as much as possible, by automating it where possible using CI/CD, CRON and Bash/Python scripting. Previously, in the highly experienced Cryptotrader-team, I have added TypeScript, NestJS, Cypress and a lot of hands-on experience to my skill set. The foundation for this had already been laid out in Codaisseurs 9-week bootcamp, covering JavaScript, React, Redux, NodeJS, Express, SQL, REST APIs and Git. All of this after an awesome career as a live sound engineer. Mainly freelancing, but 3 years full time employment at a sound/light/video/rigging rental company as well.
