About Michiel Santing

As a radiologist, I very much appreciate my profession because of it's place right in the center of modern medicine. I enjoy the consulting role in which durable cooperation with clinicians and clear patient-centered communication is becoming increasingly important. I see myself as an enthousiastic and efficient allround radiologist with a special interests in patient-centered communication and training and mentoring of residents. During my academic training I focused to become competent in all areas of radiology. Because of my earlier experiences in vascular surgery and thoracic surgery resulting in a specific interest in vascular diseases, I chose to spend part of the last 2 years of my training subspecializing in interventional radiology while maintaining sufficient exposure in diagnostic radiology as well. As a radiologist at UMC Groningen I perform all facets of secondary and tertiary care pediatric, musculoskeletal and thoracic radiology including non-vascular interventions and multidisciplinary team meetings. Recently I completed a 2 year fellowship in pediatric radiology. But most importantly: I love my job -)
