About Mick Coleman

Currently studying a Master of Digital Learning Leadership with Deakin University, Mick is a creative, flexible and passionate educator with a focus on online learning design and pedagogy/eLearning, innovation, technology and creative collaboration. Having worked as a Lead Learning Designer with OES since April 2019, he loves leading a team of talented learning design professionals to scope, design and develop high-quality online learning materials and assessment for prominent Higher Education institutions across Australia. Mick’s relaxed approach to unit development, focussing on relationship-building and collaboration with key stakeholders and industry professionals, is key to achieving the best possible outcome for online and remote learners. Since 2011 Mick has worked closely with education professionals and entertainment industry consultants developing and delivering outstanding curriculum and opportunities for VET and VCAL in the creative arts. Mick has also occupied key leadership roles such as Arts Curriculum Manager and Trainer/Assessor (SEDA Group) and Tech Production Network National Manager (COSAMP) demonstrating a willingness to lead innovation and change in the arts and education. Additionally, as a specialist in digital audio production, lighting, media, theatre and music, Mick's professional experience as an international touring musician, freelance sound engineer, video producer and lighting designer has shaped the way he approaches teaching and learning, not just in the arts but across all learning areas.
