About Mickaela Junck
A highly motivated and exceptional honours Animal Biology graduate, I am passionately pursuing my dream of becoming a large animal veterinarian. Eager to gain hands-on experience in the field, I am looking for opportunities working with both large and small animal veterinarians. Assisting with tasks such as daily care routines, treatments, handling animals and client relations. To further develop my skills with smaller pets, I work alongside professional show dog breeders and groomers. In this position, I have also been able to explore my interests in animal breeding, genetics and pedigrees. Outside of academia, I spend time showing various livestock species at competitions as well as volunteering at an animal sanctuary which provides me realistic and meaningful insight into the veterinary world. Moreover, through helping with research projects conducted by Ph.D students or MSc, I have gained invaluable experience that has shaped my understanding of animal health and behaviour even further.
