About Mickey Smith

Being a good lawyer involves not only knowledge of the law, but also being compassionate and responsive to clients’ needs. I have been practicing trial law in Florida for more than 35 years, focusing on representing individuals and families who have suffered serious personal injury, wrongful death or have been victimized by the bad-faith practices of an insurance company. For many years, I represented the interests of insurance companies, which now allows me to see all sides of a situation and fight with all strategies for my clients' since 2002. I am board-certified and re-certified as a specialist in civil trial law by both The Florida Bar and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. For many consecutive years, I am proud to have been elected to The Best Lawyers in America (personal injury and insurance law); The Lawdragon 500 Leading Plaintiff’s Lawyers in America; Florida Super Lawyers; Florida Legal Elite; Florida’s Top Lawyers; and the American Board of Trial Advocates (past president of Palm Beach chapter). I proudly serve on the following Boards: The Boys & Girls Club (Wellington, FL), Central Palm Beach County Community Foundation, Central Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce, and the Wellington Community Foundation. I am also a member of the Palms West Planning Committee and the Rotary Club of Wellington. The fun stuff: I have been married for over 32 years to Elizabeth Smith, a public school teacher in Wellington, where we have lived for many years. My hobbies include travel (all continents visited except Antarctica), golf, Miami Dolphins football, Duke basketball and Virginia Tech football. You wouldn't have guessed it, but I even had a career as a skydiver and accumulated over 2,800 jumps and over 48 hours of free-fall time.
