I have been serving as a Hardware Engineer (EE) in the gaming division of ASUS for four years. During this period, I have participated in the development of multiple laptop products, including the GU603Z and GU603H, collaborating with developers like Intel and NVIDIA for product research and development. Currently, I am involved in the development of the highly popular handheld console ROG ALLY in the market. In the field of laptops, beyond circuit design and resolving hardware issues, I understand the critical importance of battery life. To optimize battery endurance, I not only measured the power consumption of devices but also used the WPR tool to detect excessive power consumption by background services and to ensure devices successfully entered power-saving modes. I also adjusted various Power Scheme parameters to validate their energy-saving effects and find the optimal balance between power saving and performance. In the field of handheld consoles, my challenge is to further enhance the device's battery life. Apart from the aforementioned optimizations, I adjusted the power settings for different modes and engaged in in-depth discussions with CPU developers like AMD to seek better performance optimization strategies. Moreover, I actively participated in resolving Modern Standby issues during product development. Working alongside the software development team, we developed a Modern Standby testing tool and implemented it in the production line, ensuring the accurate identification and removal of all defective products during manufacturing.
