About Miguel Abeniacar

Miguel has over 20 years of experience in project finance. He is the Managing Director of Equity and Debt Advisors, a consulting firm specialized in Infrastructure Assets, providing support, advice and representation to foreign invesment funds. From 2005 to 20012 he was responsible for the Spanish market for FSA/Assured Guaranty, providing coverage of the Spanish infrastructure developers worldwide and the large construction companies worldwide. Prior to joining Assured Guaranty, Miguel was the CFO of Abertis, one of the largest toll road operators in Europe and was responsible for the financial management and treasury. During his 2 years as CFO, Miguel restructured around €4bn of debt, issued bonds in Europe and in the US, financed the acquisition of TBI, an airport group in the UK, and managed the interest rate exposure of the group. He also provided support for bidding on new concessions and the refinancing of existing ones. Prior to working in Abertis, Miguel worked for the ACS/DRAGADOS Group during 12 years, and was CFO of the Concession Division, responsible for the financial management and administration of Dragados Concesiones de Infraestructuras. He structured the financing of the awarded concessions, and oversaw their administration. He also acted as a member of the board of several concession companies and was Chairman of the Platinum Toll Road in SouthAfrica. He was responsible for the management, negotiation, and coordination of all the international finances from the Dragados Group including the execution of bond issues in the international capital markets for the financing of infrastructure projects and has participated in the bidding and financing of concession contracts in Spain, Portugal, USA, Canada, Chile, Israel, England, Argentina, Colombia, South Africa, Malta, Egypt, Finland and Ecuador. Miguel started in the ACS/Dragados Group in 1991 as Vice-President of Autopistas de Puerto Rico. Specialties: Miguel graduated in Civil Engineering in Spain and holds an MBA and an MS in Civil Engineering both from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania.
