About Miguel Cantu

I'm a Principal Network Engineer who builds more than just networks. I build the paths others follow. With over 20 years in fiber, IP, and transport design, I’ve led multi-region backbone builds, planned and scaled high-capacity infrastructure, and supported the architectures that power millions of users across the country. My work spans from physical layer strategy to IP/MPLS core design, all the way to live deployment and optimization.I’m most at home in high-pressure, high-impact environments where uptime matters, scale is non-negotiable, and someone has to take the lead. That’s where I step in. I translate complexity into clear architecture and deliver solutions that teams can trust to scale and evolve.Whether I’m in the field with techs, in a design review with engineers, or mapping strategy with leadership, I stay grounded in one belief: Connection is the path to all success.Specialties: Core IP Architecture, PTX & CRS Platforms, Multi-Region Fiber Design, IP/MPLS, BGP/IGP, Power Planning, Site Migrations, High-Availability Design, Vendor Coordination, Long-Haul Transport, Backbone Scaling
