About Miguel Escassi

Miguel has over 25 years of international experience in digital transformation, strategic management, and leadership in both corporate and public sectors. He is passionate about how public-private collaboration and technology can build a more sustainable and inclusive world, gradually involved him in different digital initiatives and ecosystems in private, public, and entrepreneurial dimensions. In the public sector, he recently served as digital transformation advisor to Spain's Vice President, and coordinated the country's digital agenda (Digital Spain 2025); he also served as Secretary for Digital Development at the Government of Chile. On the corporate side, he was a partner at the Oliver Wyman Consulting New York office, where he specialized on digital and telecom markets in US, LatAm and Europe; and he led Everis Consulting public sector practice in Chile. Later on, Miguel connected more dots, bringing together two things he is passionate about to co-found Yoomers, a startup that offers gastronomic, collaborative experiences. He has a strong interest for sustainability and diversity, collaborating in different initiatives around international development, digital inclusion, and empowering girls and women with technology. Miguel has been keynote speaker at several Digital Economy international conferences, and published several papers focusing on the impact of the digital revolution for economic development. He holds a Master of Management from Cornell University and a Master of Engineering in Telecommunication Engineering from University of Seville. Currently, Miguel is the Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy of Google for Spain and Portugal.
