About Miguel Rueda
Biotechnology Engineer passionate about science, microbiology, and culture. My academic and professional focus has been mainly towards microorganisms with biotechnological potential in the food and pharmaceutical industry. With motivation in using renewable carbon and nitrogen sources to produce high-value metabolites. For my undergrad thesis, I optimized culture conditions for Lactobacillus casei ATCC 393, using cheese whey as a carbon source, to produce lactase. Solid training in molecular biology, biostatistics, biochemistry, clinical microbiology, food science, and regulatory affairs. I am a native Spanish and advanced English speaker and writer. I can evaluate scientific literature in both languages. Correspondingly, I am very disciplined and work very well under pressure. I firmly believe that hard work and a passion for science is one of the primary gears necessary to move the economy, culture, and social welfare.
