About Mikael Westermann

Senior Robotics Engineer with 8+ years of experience building high-performance vision and robotics systems for industrial automation. I specialize in platform development for AI-integrated vision systems and real-time robot control, bridging low-level system design with application-layer performance.Key strengths include system architecture, cross-platform C++/Python/ROS development, and deploying modular, native and containerized software to production using Docker, CI, and Linux tools. I have led development of a vision runtime platform since 2018, supporting AI model deployment, real-time image processing, and PLC integration in high-throughput automation.Extensive hands-on experience with:• Industrial robotics platforms (UR, Fanuc, Kuka, Yaskawa, etc.)• Embedded Linux and ROS-based systems• 2D & 3D vision, multi-camera/robot calibration, and real-time feedback loops• Cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams and international partnersDriven by problem-solving, I aim to build robust, scalable solutions and platforms that support innovation from prototype to production.
